The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (OSH Act) and Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 require electrical equipment at workplaces to be safe and to not expose Workers to hazards. As prescribed by the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 and Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 the person having control of a workplace or access to that work place, i.e. employer, self-employed person, main contractor, must ensure that all portable plug-in electrical equipment and residual current devices (RCDs) at the workplace are safe and appropriately inspected, tested and maintained by a competent person. Our licensed technicians conduct a thorough visual inspection of scheduled items for testing and tagging, identifying any electrical safety defects. After this, they determine the appropriate test for each appliance and expertly administer it using our cutting-edge test and tag machine. Detailed results, whether pass or fail, are meticulously recorded in the PAT tester’s internal memory.

To conclude, a tag with all pertinent information is automatically generated and dispensed from our advanced printer system. This ensures thorough documentation and adherence to the highest safety standards, emphasizing our commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Tags are affixed to equipment meeting safety standards, displaying the test date and the next evaluation date.

 

Any items failing safety criteria receive a “Danger Tag,” with discrepancies reported and items securely placed in a quarantine area. This meticulous approach guarantees that only safe and compliant equipment is available for use in your workplace.
